Frinton Free Church Sports: Table Tennis

It was an article in a Church News sheet by the Ambassadors in Sport Team, asking for ideas for new sports activities that led to the formation of a new Table Tennis Club at Frinton Free Church. Having recently taken up table tennis again after a lapse of many years, a church member approached the Sports Ministry Team with a view to starting a Table Tennis Club and after making enquiries, it soon became evident that other people were also interested.

After several months, during which time we acquired the loan of two table tennis tables, the club opened on 15th September when some 26 people attended. Numbers have dropped slightly but we now have three tables and a cross-section of church members and friends of all ages who meet every Monday evening from 7.30 to 9.00 pm. Subscriptions are £1 per member per evening for adults, 50p for young adults (we regret that young people under the age of 18 can only attend if accompanied by an adult), and this includes light refreshments.
